@
the Douglass Farm, Hector, PA, July 17th 2010

It was a beautiful day in Potter County. There were about 50 in attendance from as far away as South Africa! A good time indeed was had by all who were able to participate.

NOTE: Please make a note of incorrect or missing names and email them to me! – Marty

Of course, there was music!
above, L to R: Kris Magnuson, Paul Bartow, & Anne Magnuson Bokma entertained those in attendance from on the front porch of the 160-year-old Douglass home

Kim Bartoo shows off great-uncle Howard Douglass' 1770's flintlock rifle – always in the family. He told how “Uncle Harold” found it in a wall while helping a neighbor work on his home. Harold asked if he could have it (!!!) and the neighbor replied “It's your dad's!”

How great to see all this!

Ella Mae Peters donated some wonderful paintings. One of them became the prize for the eldest n attendance – but since Ella Mae
was the eldest there, it went to the runner-up, Doris Bartow,
seated next to son Bill.

Proprietor Charles Douglass, the owner of the home and
grandson of its builder, discussing something with...
...umm, somebody help with names!

Part of the clan going thru the cemetery; a fascinating journey.

The old barn on Sike's property, at "Carr's Corners" -- if anyone but
the locals can find it. This is all that's left from his days...but wow,
to be there walking around, thinking about him or Grandpa walking around as a kid without a clue to the posterity he would leave!

The beauty of this area, the good spirit there, the family heritage...no wonder they call Potter County “God's Country!”
